This beautifully carved pair of Wood Ducks by Courtney Allen (North Truro, Massachusetts) is signed and dated (1954) on the
base. The paint is exquisite on each of the birds. The branch is 14" long, 10" wide, and about 6" deep.
The birds are approximately 5" long and 4" tall. The piece is made to be hung on the wall. The condition is mint.

A rare miniature carving by Russ P. Burr (1887-1955), Hingham, Massachusetts, the little shorebirds are in near-mint original
condition with some paint and gesso loss to parts of the feet. The bottom is marked "Russ P. Burr, Hingham, Mass"
and the birds are named in pencil: "Black Breast Plover, Ringneck Plover, Golden Plover". The base is about 9 inches
long, 3 3/4 inches wide. The overall height is 2 1/2 inches. The largest bird measures 3 3/4 inches long.

The skill of a fine woodcarver is clearly evident in this little Ruddy Turnstone carving by Harold N. Gibbs (1886-1970), Barrington,
Rhode Island. The bottom has "HNG 1946" inscribed in pencil. This piece stands about 1 1/2 inches tall, 3 inches
long, has beautiful form and paint, and is in mint condition.
